Additional Information

Location: Dublin and Peterborough are located in southwestern New Hampshire, 2 hours from Boston and 4.5 hours from New York City.

Airports: The closest airport, Manchester, NH is about an hour from Dublin. Manchester is serviced by USAirways, United, Continental, Northwest and SouthWest. Boston’s Logan Airport and Bradley Airport just north of Hartford in Windsor, CT are both two hours away, and are serviced by all major airlines.

Car Rentals: Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, Enterprise, Sears/Budget and National are available at Manchester; virtually all rental companies are available at Logan and Bradley.

Arrival/Departure: Registration will take place Saturday, August 16 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Dublin School. Arrangements can be made for late arrivals. Departure will be after breakfast on the morning of Saturday, August 23.

The Dublin School – Lodging and Facilities: You will reside in a dorm room at the Dublin School. All of the rooms are spacious, and have lovely views of the surrounding campus and hills. Rooms include twin beds, bed linens and towels. Note: you may elect to have a double room to yourself, or share with someone else - such as a spouse.

The Dublin School – Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day by the school’s chef (included in the tuition), with breakfast only being served on the morning of departure. One dinner will be catered at the school during the week.  On the other nights, dinner is “on your own” at various area restaurants.  Note: there is also the “going home” dinner on Friday evening, the 24th that is held in Peterborough (not at the school), but included in the tuition.

Day and Evening Activities (other than lessons and generous practice time) included in the tuition: Classes, lectures and master classes by Cathy Campbell, Bob Rodriguez and Bob Pettegrew; faculty and student recitals; welcoming reception and dinner at Hope and Bob Pettegrew’s home in nearby Hancock; ensemble playing; open jam sessions; open faculty sessions; a catered dinner during the week; a private Friday night “going home” dinner at a local restaurant, and a play at the Peterborough Players. Optional: shopping and evening dining in nearby Peterborough -- hiking, swimming and sight seeing in the Monadnock area.

What To Bring: Music you wish to learn or continue practicing; casual clothing that will accommodate daytime temperatures of 60 to 85 degrees, as well as cooler evenings; any gear you wish for hiking, swimming, climbing Mount Monadnock or other activities.

If an out-of-town student elects to stay off campus, that person may do so at his or her own expense. However, he or she will be subject to being charged the "Resident Students" fee.

Arrival Package: upon arrival you will be given a package of additional materials, including a week-long schedule of instruction and campus practice locations for the week; room and meal arrangements; local area dining and touring information. Those new to Piano’Scape will receive orientation at registration time. During the week Hope Pettegrew will be available to assist you with whatever additional arrangements or information you may need.
